Additionally, a law came into effect on 1 April 2022 that prohibits the sale of flavoured E-liquid. The only legal flavours now are tobacco and menthol. By mixing your own liquid, you can more easily find the perfect balance between nicotine, tobacco, and menthol that suits you.

What do you need to mix your own E-liquid?
When you mix your own E-liquid, you need at least 3 elements. However, most choose to use 4 elements.
Here are the things you need:
- Nicotine liquid
- PG liquid (Propylene Glycol)
- VG liquid (Vegetable Glycerin)
- Aroma essence
- Possibly demineralised water
- Empty bottles
- Syringes for measuring liquid amounts
Nicotine liquid
We recommend that the nicotine liquid should be based on PG liquid. This means you buy PG liquid with nicotine in it. You should buy as strong nicotine liquid as possible, as it gives more options for mixing in the ratio you want. The reason for this is that there is typically more PG liquid than VG liquid in a finished mixture of e-liquid.

PG liquid
To get exactly the mg nicotine strength you want, you also need pure PG liquid. PG is a very thin liquid that produces less vapour but has a fantastic taste.
VG liquid
To get the right mixing ratio between PG and VG, you also need some pure VG. VG is, in contrast to PG, a thick liquid that produces good vapour but poorer taste. Aroma essence
To get flavour in the finished e-liquid, flavourings must be added. Here you can choose between different tobacco flavours and menthol flavours. Previously, it was possible to mix other flavours in, such as strawberry, watermelon, and chocolate, but after the government's law change it is no longer legal to sell aroma with flavours other than tobacco and menthol. it is no longer legal to sell aroma with flavours other than tobacco and menthol.

Demineralised water
VG is an incredibly thick liquid, and therefore many people use demineralised water to dilute it. Many choose to dilute their e-liquid mixture when the VG content is 50%, but some also do it at a VG content of 30%. How much you can add depends on your mixing ratio between PG and VG. If you choose to dilute the liquid, it is "normal" to use about 5% demineralised water. However, we recommend that you dilute the VG liquid with a maximum of 10% demineralised water.

You need some empty bottles to mix your liquids in. Make sure to buy enough of them so you can mix a lot at once.

Syringes for measuring liquid amounts
When you need to mix your own E-liquid, it is much easier if you use a syringe. We recommend using the larger syringes for PG and VG liquids, and then 1 ml syringes for the aroma/essences.
Remember to buy a number of 1 ml syringes so you can mix several liquids at once without first having to wash the syringes. When you have finished mixing your personal E-liquid, you can simply clean the syringes. They can then be used again and again.

What mixing ratio should you use to mix your own E-liquid?
The typical mixing ratio for E-liquid is 10% aroma and 90% VPG base. The VPG base will typically be in a mixing ratio of 70% PG and 30% VG, which is a good mixing ratio for beginners.
Once you have become familiar with the procedure, you can easily adjust the mixing ratios – both in terms of aroma and the VPG base. Many, for example, enjoy their VPG base in a mixing ratio of 50/50, but in the end, it's a matter of taste.
